When I grow up

When do we stop looking at the future with dreams like kids do?

This series tried to represent the ideas that I came to when I asked myself: What would I like to be when I grow up?

I find it refreshing representing older ladies in recreational situations in which they are the centre of the action and the main subject. It is the opposite to the traditional art representation of women as objects to be looked at, generally as passive and most often nude.

Cuando sea mayor

¿Cuándo dejamos de mirar al futuro con anhelo como los niños?

Esta serie intenté representar las ideas que me venían a la cabeza cuando me preguntaba a mí misma: ¿Que quiero ser cuando sea mayor?

Para mí es refrescante representar a mujeres mayores en situaciones recreativas en las que son el centro de acción y el principal sujeto representado. Es una oposición a la representación tradicional de las mujeres en el arte como objetos para ser observados, generalmente en actitudes pasivas y muy frecuentemente desnudas.
